Bacterial Infections in Solid Organ Transplants Recipients- Discuss how the selection of appropriate empiric antibiotic therapy for solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients, at the time of presentation of infectious symptoms, affects one-month mortality. Evaluate the importance of developing local surveillance systems for antibiotic susceptibility, in order to decrease inappropriate empiric antibiotic therapy in SOT patients. Describe the susceptibility of SOT patients to Gram-negative bloodstream infections, in particular those originating from the urinary tract in kidney transplant recipients, and from the gastrointestinal tract in liver transplant recipients
